勤劳是中华民族的传统美德，华夏儿女通过辛勤劳动孕育了五千年的辉煌历史，更创造出了无数的物质财富。在不同的时空和地区，祖先们不断地探索并总结着自然的规律，积累智慧的结晶，并建立了灿若繁星的中华文明。一起看看传统文化如何“走进”小学生心中。

古琴

古琴，又称七弦琴，是中国传统拨弦乐器。古琴演奏是中国历史上最古老、艺术水准最高、最具民族精神和传统艺术特征的器乐演奏形式。2006年，古琴艺术被列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产名录；2008年，奥运会开幕式上全世界都听到了中国古琴的声音。自此，古琴穿越3000年时光，感染人心。

来自成都市蒙彼利埃小学的付眺影同学表达了对她对古琴的热爱。

The Guqin is a seven-stringed plucked instrument of Chinese origin. It is usually made of wood, with seven strings made of silk. It has a unique and beautiful sound. I have been learning the Guqin for two years. Actually, it’s not an easy way to go, but the longer I learn, the more interested I am in it. Most of the Guqin songs are famous songs handed down from ancient times. Some songs are sad and gloomy, some are passionate and exciting, and some are affectionate and moving. If you have the chance to come to China, I will definitely invite you to come to my home, make a pot of green tea, enjoy a Guqin song in the scent of tea, and spend a happy time together.

珠算

算盘是一种中国传统计算工具，珠算是以算盘为工具进行数字计算的一种方法，被誉为中国的第五大发明。2013年，珠算被正式列入人类非物质文化遗产名录。生于电子时代的你，是否还会用珠算？

来自昆明西南联大研究院附属学校的梁泓晓同学：

Abacus is known as one of China's five inventions and the oldest computer. Most abacus has 9 digits, an upbeat means 5, a downbeat means 1. For example, if you want to switch it to 51, you only need to switch an upbeat on the second digit and a downbeat on the first digit. Chinese zhusuan is easy to calculate too. You only need to use the rhymes and switch the beat, and then read it out. You can use it to do multiplication, addition, and so on. This is how it was popular. Until now, most people use calculators, but in some chemist shops, shop clerks still use abacuses to see how it cost because this is more exact.

十二生肖

“兔年大吉”是我们在今年春节期间经常听到的一句祝福。生肖文化源于中国，春秋战国时期就已存在十二兽即十二生肖。生肖文化是中国民俗文化的重要标志，有着象征吉祥、传递祝福的美好寓意。

来自哈尔滨师范附小的张祺昊同学：

There are 12 animals and each is for the entire year. For example, this year is the year of rabbit. The 12 animals are not random, they have a certain order. I have no idea where this order came about, but many fairy tales had their own theory. Every Chinese knows their zodiac. My zodiac is snake. So far, I have mentioned 2 animals, rabbit and snake. The other 10 animals are rat, ox, tiger, dragon, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. You might want to choose your favorite animal as your zodiac sign but unfortunately, you can't because your zodiac sign is based on the year you were born.

神话动物-龙

龙，是中国古代神话中的动物，是中华民族的象征之一。与西方神话传说中的龙不同，中国的龙和凤凰、麒麟等并列为祥瑞。龙象征着吉祥、喜庆、团结、进取、腾飞，中国人也常自称为“龙的传人”。

来自哈尔滨市东湖路学校的石智文同学，出生于龙年的他为大家描述中国龙。

I was born in 2012, the year of the dragon in China. My first impression of dragons is dinosaurs because in Chinese they sound almost the same to me. Later, I got to know that dragons and dinosaurs were not the same thing. Dragons were mythical animals imagined by ancient people. A dragon is a creature of a combination of several animals. It has a head of a camel, horns of a deer, belly of a snake, skin of a carp, feet of a phoenix, and whiskers of the human being. Since then, I had become interested in dragons.
